Create 3 Stunning Features to Enhance Your Garden or Home: Make a lamp from an old mason jar, revitalize flower pots this season, and add a splash of color with vibrant rocks.
We'll kick off our event with light music and non-alcoholic drinks.
Schedule:
20 minutes of a calming drawing and sketching session, preparing a basic layout that will connect all three projects using pencils and paper.
1. Lamp (45 min)
Painting old jars to create lamps is a flexible DIY project that turns glass containers into personalized lighting fixtures using various painting and decorating techniques.
I. Decoupage/Floral: Apply cut-out napkins or decorative rice paper to the jar's exterior with Mod Podge for a romantic, decorative effect.
II. Frosted/Aged Look: Use textured, matte, or acrylic enamel paint to achieve a rustic or shabby-chic appearance. Create a "distressed" look on mason jars for vintage charm.
Take a 15-minute break with light refreshments.
2. Pottery Painting (60-80 min)
Essential Steps for Success
· Priming: Apply a base coat, often white acrylic paint, to enhance colors and provide an even surface.
· Painting: Use multi-surface acrylic or outdoor-specific paints.
· Sealing: Once dry, apply a weatherproof clear sealant like Mod Podge Outdoor or a spray varnish to protect the design from moisture and UV rays
3. Conclude with vibrant rocks: featuring inspirational messages, small-scale landscapes, mandalas, and dot art. 40 min
This is a guided event, ensuring everyone is included. All supplies are provided—just bring your creativity!
